As with any music board, this one is full of broad tastes. I thought it'd be interesting to share and compare a favorite albums list. Here's mine:
(in no particular order except for the top two)
Ryan Adams - Love Is Hell Neil Young - Tonight's The Night The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning Ryan Adams - Cold Roses Neil Young - On The Beach The Velvet Underground - Loaded The Clash - London Calling David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars
* this list strictly pertains to personal preferences and influence, not intended to reflect a "best ever" notion
CM1847- 04-24-2008
Pixies - "Doolittle" The Beatles - "Revolver" Radiohead - "Kid A" Ted Leo & the Pharmacists - "Shake the Sheets" Bob Dylan - "Blood on the Tracks" Radiohead - "OK Computer" Beck - "Odelay" Nirvana - "Nevermind" The Velvet Underground - "The Velvet Underground" The White Stripes - "De Stijl"
From 1 to 10 starting at the top. That list defiintely has some "best" influence in it, so it's not completely a favorite list, but I do highly enjoy everything listed. I think if I tried a favorite list it would change on a weekly basis.

The National: Alligator M Ward: Transfiguration of Vincent Adorable: Against Perfection Modest Mouse: Good News for People Who Love Bad News Sun Kil Moon: Ghosts of the Great Highway Neutral Milk Hotel: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea Van Morrison: Astral Weeks Radiohead: Kid A Jazz Butcher: Waiting for the Love Bus John Cale: Words for the Dying
The last two artists I could pick from about half a dozen albums so these are more or less arbitrary choices representing a larger body of work...actually that's true of several artists on here.

Rosemary: The National are definitely included! I would've liked to throw Alligator and Boxer on there but at this point and time there is nothing on my list I could part with so it remained intact.

Yeah. But $30, $30, and $40 for those will keep them out of my vinyl collection. I pretty much have everything the man has released on CD. On vinyl, my Neil collection is rather small - Tonight's the Night, Live Rust, Harvest, American Stars n Bars, and Rust Never Sleeps.

I'm trying to limit myself to one per artist.
Final Fantasy - Has a Good Home The National - Alligator Arcade Fire - Funeral Leonard Cohen - The Best Of Xiu Xiu - Fabulous Muscles Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake It's Morning The Postal Service - Give Up Stars - Set Yourself On Fire Bloc Party - Silent Alarm Yann Tiersen - Amelie Soundtrack
I just picked the records that I always go back to, the ones that never get old...
