Hey everyone.... on June 22 2007 i saw the National @ The Middle East in Boston (i lived there until Oct 2007) i was in the front row with my wife, and stood in front of Aaron for the whole show. I was fortunate to talk to him briefly before the show started, cuz i was the first one allowed in the club. I got there super early with the hopes of telling at least one of them how much Boxer meant to me. Aaron was getting his ear chewed off by some dude...and he looked so annoyed... like he wanted to kill himself...so i intervened....and he was super nice and talked to me for about 10 minutes. i should have taken a picture of THAT.....but i just wasnt thinking...
here are the pics i took of the show.... my camera's date thing was all screwed up..some of the pics say 2005...some of them have the correct date. so i figured you guys would like to check em out...... for some of you who like to archive everything, the opening acts were some girl from Boston (i can't remember her name, but she was terrible) and the canadian band Shapes And Sizes (also terrible)..which is funny, because i now live in Canada.
Dang, that's a great place to see them! I saw so many good shows there when I lived in Somerville.

Yeah, '98-2000. It was an awful time in my life, but I saw some great shows while I was there. Never went to the Abbey though - not sure if they were having shows then or if I just didn't know about it.

Hey...I live in Somerville too and was at that show (and now just find myself in your pictures!). The Middle East is a wonderful venue (especially when you get there early to eat and get to chat with bands at the bar...). I will miss the Mid East when I move. Thanks so much for the shots!
And... Matt used to live in Somerville. That's a fun fact.
