Don't know how many Afghan Whigs/Greg Dulli fans we have in the house but we finally have a streaming song from the long-overdue Gutter Twins, Greg Dulli and Mark Langegan (Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age). It is streaming through their MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/theguttertwins

The Whigs and Screaming Trees were two of my favourite bands in the 90s, so I've been looking forward to this for a long time.
Inevitably, it's great.

Massive Whigs/Twilights fan here. Thanks for the heads up.
What do you think to it, Mark? I’ve been listening to it for the last few days, and I love it. Much better than Twilight Singers.

I really enjoy it. I haven't gotten around to buying the physical CD yet, but it's one of my favorite albums of 08 so far for sure. All Misery/Flowers is probably my favorite track. I am a huge Dulli/Whigs fan so I was not so familiar with Lanegan. Someone told me Seven Stories Underground sounds like something that would come identically out of some of his solo work. The opener The Stations and Idle Hands are both very dark and catchy and great tracks as well. The closer is also phenomenal as normally are of Dulli's albums (i.e. Afghan Whigs - Faded). I hope to be seeing them live next month here in Dulli's hometown. Can't wait!

Yep, that's a pretty good summary. Half of it sounds like Dust, and half of it sounds like Gentlemen, which is to be expected I guess. Idle Hands is a brilliant tune - could almost be a hit single, but I hope not. It wouldn't seem right somehow.

I'm just recently discovering Afghan Whigs (despite being from Cincinnati, I missed the heyday of the Whigs). Because of the Gutter Twins (Saturnalia is incredibly good, BTW), I'm just now finding out about Lanegan. I downloaded the Mark Lanegan Band album "Bubblegum" from emusic.com. UNBELIEVABLY EXCELLENT! This is slow, dark, brooding, atmospheric music with lyrics fit for a trip into hell. Lanegan's voice is just perfect. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.

Lanegan's voice is fantastic. Check out Dust to hear Screaming Trees at their mightiest. The album he made with Isobell Campbell is brilliant as well

Don't forget to check out Lanegans "Field Songs" as well, outstanding record

I'm a little late to this album, but I've been listening to it heavily the past two days. Pretty good, it brings me back to early 90s rock a lot for some reason. It's got a lot of Queens of the Stone Age, but at a slower pace. I really like both of the singer's vocals, I knew Lanegan's going in, but I'd never listened to the Afgahn Whigs so I didn't know what to expect from the other guy.

Saw 'em live at the weekend at they were astonishing.
Great setlist - Gutter Twins, Twilight Singers, Lanegan solo stuff and a few covers.
Well worth catching.
