Start a War

It was an absolutely cracking gig.
Highlights were probably Soho Riots and Geese of Beverley Roads.
The gig also featured some crowd-surfing by Matt during Mr November

The second last song was About Today.

And yes, that was a phenomenal gig. There's something genius about the way the crowd lifted Matt just as he was singing "I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders"

What an amazing gig in the Olympia! What an amazing frontman! What an amazing band!
About today and Start a war were something else. That's the most successful stage diving I've seen too!

Anyone have the setlist for the Ambassador gig?

mickeyjoe- 11-02-2007
Yeah i agree. after the gig myself and my friends were discussing what a fantastic frontman Matt is, he has so much presence onstage.

I thought the drumming at the start of Squalor Victoria was amazing as well.

sivski- 11-02-2007
One of the things that stitched this band so close to my heart was the drumming. It is actually awesome (in the true sense of the word) and seeing it live made me heart race faster than any Grand Prix!

Yeah, they tried that in Chicago. Unfortunately, the crowd wasn't quick enough to pick up on it . . .

About Today

Another fantastic show. Highlight had to be the huge glitter ball coming on at the start of Fake Empire and lighting up the whole venue. Matt just sort of stared at it in awe as he sang!!!

Also, after the gig the Devendorfs were doing a DJ set at The Beat Club across the road from the venue which the rest of the band came to. It was pretty cool. I got to talk to Matt for a few minutes without making a tit of myself and had my picture taken with him. He is such a nice guy. He seemed so humble and appreciative when I told him how much I love the band. I think my fanboy status has been officially confirmed!!!! ph34r.gif

stef112- 11-03-2007
mate i couldnt even bring myself to talk to anyone in the band at the beat club...i couldnt drink therefore had balls the size of pinheads...always think im gonna make a tit of myself!!! i just feel theres such a fine line between showing youre love of the band and coming across as an uber-fan....i tend to piss aaaaaaall over that line.

...chatted to padma outside tho who was a real gent....didnt know he was australian tho...kinda threw me off!
