The new album from SM & The Jicks is out next month. Malkmus recruited Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss to play the album. It was one of my most anticipated of 08. I have heard people loving it as well as criticizing it for being "too jammy". Anyone heard the leak?

I've been listening to it for about 2 weeks now. I love it. There's definitely some extended guitar workouts on there. But as a huge Neil Young fan, I can't say that's a bad thing.
I just recently began picking up his solo albums. I had heard his solo debut a ton of times, really fun, loose album. But I just heard Face The Truth for the first time and I really enjoy it. I've heard nothing but praise for Real Emotional Trash, I can't wait to hear it.

I picked this up today. It is really, really "jammy", 6 of the 10 songs go over 5 minutes with the title track topping out at 10. It is pretty good though, I'm definitely going to need more time to digest these songs, but upon my first full listen it managed to be jammy, but without becoming boring.
