So I'm in the move of buying a Canon EOS 400D. Anyone got any input on this?

Also I though that since we here on the board are highly creative persons, we could post pictures we've taken and are proud of. Post the hell away!

First of all, this forum needs to activate img tags. So that we can post pictures directly on the site.
Eos 400d is by all means a good camera, allthough personally I'm more of a Nikon man. I bought the D70s two years ago, and I've never had a bad moment with it. You should just try both brands and see what appeals the most to you.

Anyway, here are some of my photos that I've taken during the last two years:
- Parachutes will hold me up
- Cheating death
- Woman in control

I love photography and especially taking conceptual photos.

First off, I totally agree about the IMG-tags.
I guess I'm choosing betweeb the Canon EOS 400D and the Nikon 40DX... It's leaning towards the 400D with the kit lens(for starters) actually.
Your pics were pretty nice, i like the first one. Do you use photoshot a lot or do you prefer to make a great arrangement and set specific ...stuff directly on the camera?

I wish I was into photography but I've never really known where to start and also, like Allansson, I'm always broke. Hence why this Christmas I'm stacking shelves at night in a supermarket. Does life get any better than that?

I guess IMG tags would make Nationary a whole lot easier...

I use quite a lot of photoshop, if I were to try and set things on the camera it would be too much of a risk. The screen on the camera has fooled me many times, I think I took a really good photo, but it turns out it was blurry and the colours were actually pretty terrible.
Here are more of my pictures if anyone is interested: http://marthema.deviantart.com/gallery/

I bought myself a little 400D today. It was a tough choice, but at least it was one.
who knows, maybe in a few years I'll be shooting quality stuff like you, bombadil biggrin.gif

do you have any good beginner tips?

I'm glad to see that it's becoming a standard to see me as broke. laugh.gif

Anyway, I think you're quite an artist, Bombadil. No matter how much Photoshop you use. Your pics are great.

Cheating Death is such a cool picture, I would definitely have that on my wall.

Bombadil- 12-29-2007
Thank you guys smile.gif I'm trying to get better at Adobe Illustrator and make vector images, but it takes a looong time to learn.

Uhm.. Well. I really learnt a great deal from actually taking the time to read the manual for my camera, getting to know all your functions and limitations really comes in handy. It might take a while to read it all, but I promise you that you will appreciate your camera more afterwards.
I don't know how much you have shot with slr camera's before, but reading some basic tips concerning shutter speed and aperture is allways smart. These shouldn't be too difficult to find on the net.

And of course, just take lots and lots of photos. If I get 1 out of 100 photos that are good I'm pleased smile.gif

Has anyone heard of / does anyone like the work of Chema Madoz? I wish I viewed the world with his eyes. He's the thing above anything else that makes me wish I was more into photography.

A few of Chema Madoz's pictures.

I did buy one... It landed on the canon 400d. and of course the 450d was released just after.

I have not yet got around to taking nice photos, I'm still getting to know the camera and my photoshop skills are at a minimum. As soon as I get around it all, I'll link some here.
