Went to see 28 Weeks Later last night. Not quite as good as the first one I thought but still excellent. Also - got to see the trailer for the new Transformers movie. Call me shallow but it looks absolutely amazing!!!!!

Oh god, it's so fornicating awesome. You just have to wait a few minutes (excruciatingly long time, don't you think?) and then the action starts and just doesn't stop.

"eat your vegetables" BAM! Breed, then total chaos throughout the movie. I loved it, seen it twice already. It's the lovechild of crank and die hard.

I thought it was odd talking about seeing films in the cinema released months ago pretty much worldwide... Quite a funny prank by James!

I saw "The Ten" yesterday. I thought it was kind of funny and twisted. I laughed out loud at some points, which i almost never do when watching movies alone.

I don't recall seeing mention of "Sweeney Todd" around here! I'm not a musicals kind of guy, though I did see "Wicked" the day before "Todd", but this movie was brilliant. Gallons of blood come spilling out of people and yet the audience is in hysterics, that's a good sign by my count.
Johnny Depp proved that you don't need the best voice in the world to make a good musical star, and though it was entertaining, the movie also had a real gravity to it as well. If you're in the mood for a rare cinematic experience give it a shot!

I watched 'Lives of Others' recently and thought it was superb. I'm a bit of a geek and like GDR/Berlin Wall history which made the film doubly exciting. It's quite a powerful film and I'd reccomend it to anyone.

I'm just back from seeing "juno". I think it was pretty good, it made me laugh really hard a few times. Me and my friend were not only the oldest people there, we were the only one laughing. Ellen Page, who was in hard candy which was good too but in a different way, is a very promising young actress.
Mozart Face- 01-11-2008
Got to disagree with you on Hard Candy. I hated it, I just thought it was all sensationalist and I couldn't help but find the girl ridiculously annoying.
I finally got round to seeing I Am Legend and thought it was reasonable, although my friends all loved it. I don't know if people are interested but the book apparently ends quite differently, so if anyone's curious I'll be sure to write SPOILERS before I post.

Anybody here seen the Orphanage? I thought it was an almost perfectly executed horror/suspense movie. It's the most original take I've seen on a haunted house movie in ages, and what really resonated with me was it's emotional core. If you like Pan's Labyrinth or the Devil's Backbone it was produced by Guillermo del Toro and has a number of similar thematic elements, but it remains a unique piece of work in itself. If you're the type of person that understands that there's a lot more terrifying things in this world than ghosts, you'll probably like this movie...
allansson- 01-14-2008
I watched the trailer for it just now, and god, I was frightened just by that. I have to see it, even if it means I can't sleep for a couple of years after. I mean Pan's Labyrinth was so awesome that I doubt this is going to be any worse.
