I can understand the appeal of the Wii if you've got some mates round and you've had a few shandys. I can't imagine myself getting in from a days work and punching in to thin air and all that though - too much like hard work.

Wii is definately a console suited best for company. Although I would probably play it alone if I had one. I mean: Zelda: Twillight Princess and Metriod Prime 3: Corruption

I'm a pretty big gamer, but I don't have a next gen console because I suck.

I have a modestly pimped out computer on which Oblivion swallows my life...

Well into my gaming. PC is my weapon of choice.

Spend most of my game time playing Battlefield 2 Infantry Only. Scary amount of hours invested in that game. Loved the GTA games, it is my girlfriends favourite game series. She does the driving, I do the shooting. Works well. Looking forward to the next version, although I suspect my wallet will take a major hammering on upgrading the PC to cope.

Also love my footie games with Pro Evo 6 my current favourite.

We bought a PS2 for the princely sum of Ł20 about five months ago and have being playing lots of GT3, Test Drive Unlimited & SSX3. First console I've ever owned. ohmy.gif

I've heard really good things about that one.... That and Zelda are pretty much the only reasons for my future wii-buy.

I've been playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for NDS for a few days now, and its great! I was afraid they were gonna screw up the Zelda reputation with this one but it turned out to be awesome. I dont really play games, but Zelda s close to my heart.

Oooh, I need to start playing the Phantom Hourglass, i've heard nothing but good about it. I've been playing Pokémon for what seems like aeons now.

I downloaded this game for the nintendo ds, called Jam Sessions.
The game is not really a game, its more of a acoustic guitar-simulator... You press at a direction on the steering-cross to hold a chord, and strum a string presented on the touchscreen.... You can hold 16 different chords I think, and those are real chords, so you can basically mic up the nintendo and actually use it on a gig, as i surfed youtube I saw some people actually doing that. This game is pretty cool, i plan to use it in my future musicproduction.

Imo it sounds terrible.

I have to agree, would be kind of a fun novelty but I don't know that it would be fun for more than a few minutes.

I got Paper Mario on Wii for my birthday from my girlfriend, and it's pretty funny in places. For example there's a part where you have to pass a geek quiz, and the question is "True or false: Bumbags are both stylish and practical."

I think Bumbags are called fannypacks in America if anyone needed translating.

saboteur- 12-05-2007
yeah, the jam sessions game is more of a "cool thing" than a game, as Mozart Face pointed out, it's not really a game you play for hours... But I usually think that things that can produce sounds are in genarally totally awesome.

I feel like I have to defend this game at least a little, so here's a video of a guy that does something that's not too awful with it.

Ok. You've got me there. And maybe you shouldn't think of the sound as being a guitar. Maybe you should think of it as Jam Sessions. I mean, when the PWM-based synthesizers (or any synths at all) came out and they tried to mimic the piano, people probably went "Wait, what the f*ck is this? It doesn't even remotely sound like the real thing".

My point is, maybe Jam Sessions could be viewed as a new kind of instrument?

PS. I'm just talking drunken jibberish. DS.

I've recently come into possession of a Nintendo DS. Anyone played Mario Kart on it? Any good?

Cheers in advance.

Yeah Ive played it, not too much though.... its pretty fun, and has an excellent multiplayer feature.
In general its pretty similar to mario kart 64, so if you liked that you'll probably like this one too

The christmas season has really brought out the gaming side of me. I'm now stuck playing:
- Knights of the old republic 1 & 2
- Dragonball Z for the Wii
- Sam & Max hit the road (lovely game)
- Super Mario Galaxy (hopefully)
- A little Halo when with my friends

Lovely part of year I must say. cool.gif
