Thought it was about time we had a football discussion, so who's your team and what are your expectations for the season. Oh, and who's going to win the Premiership.
Ill go first, my team is Weymouth in the Blue Square Premier Division (5th division). I was born there and have supported them for 20 years through thin and transparent. I'd be happy for a completely non eventful boring mid table season, maybe with a FA Cup run. Last year was such a rollercoaster with us nearly going out of business.
As for the Premiership its going to be pretty dull again I reckon with Man Utd winning it again.

Klagg - is Weymouth the team that Steve Claridge used to manage? I remember there was a documentary about them a couple of years ago - wasn't there a five year plan to get in to the football league? I'm guessing it went a bit pear-shaped?!!?
Anyhoo - I'm a Liverpool fan who, for the eighteenth year in a row thinks, "this is our year". Probably not, but hope springs eternal.

Yeah, that was us - it was called 'Football Dreams'. Claridge was best mates with Ian Ridley, our Chairmam at the time who got us the exposure on the Beeb. Claridge was sacked the following season, we then got promotion back to the Conference by our Chairman chucking loads of money at the team. Last season saw the Chairman pull the plug and left us around £2m in debt, we've now been taken over and according to reports the previous Chairman has written off all the debts.
Will Torres bring you the goals you need? Will Rafa keep the goatee for the season?

I support Hereford United. My dad's side of the family has done for generations and they're from the area. Got promoted to League 2 in 2006 so hopefully they can stay there. It's going to be tough as they're broke.
As far as the Premiership is concerned, I hope out of the teams that have a realistic chance of winning it either Man Utd or Arsenal do, because I much prefer the way they play to Liverpool and Chelsea. Hopefully both Liverpool's signings and Mourinho's promises indicate a greater willingness to attack. In which case I wouldn't mind too much who won the title.
I don't think Torres will get 20 goals this season, but maybe the next. Voronin looks class though, and Babel looks quite terrible. I'm sure I'll eat my words on him. From the pre season friendlies I've seen, Eduardo looks a great buy for Arsenal. Malouda looks good, as does Nani. We know about Tevez and Hargreaves but Anderson hasn't been that convincing yet.
...In a side note Rafa should ditch the goatee.

Lincoln City fan at heart. Am expecting a record 6th consecutive season in the play-offs followed by disappointment.
Liverpool are my premiership team, and I think we’ll do pretty well. Torres won’t get 20 goals a season, but will be a huge handful, creating space for others – hopefully Kuyt will come into his own now that he’s settled and feed off Torres. Haven’t seen Babel yet, but I think Benayoun is a really shrewd buy.
Chelsea will reclaim the title, United second, and we’ll be a close-ish 3rd. The most important thing is we get off to a good start. By which I mean beating Villa on Saturday.
And, more importantly, the beard stays.

Hows Ben Smith doing for you guys? He is one of the best players I've seen in the glorious terra cotta and blue before we had to let him go when it all went tits up.

Pretty well. He's captained the side a few times. he has to be decent, he the first transfer for money (£20,000) that we've made for 10 years. Lots of Turner wheeling and dealing for us. Usually what happens is we get a player who has lost his way a bit on a free and then end up losing him when he gets good for money.

I think Torres will be a hit - I think playing with players of a better standard can only help him and make him better. I think he'll want to prove to people that he's worthy of the price tag.
Can see him and Benayoun playing together quite often away from home in an Ian Rush/Peter Beardsley set up.
p.s Thumbs up for the goatee

Well officially I'm a Man City fan - always have been. But as I'm from West Yorkshire I always have an eye on how Leeds are doing.
Sooooooooo, lets concentrate on City I reckon - well I think that it's an exciting time, pretty much a sell out ala Chelsea, but after watching 20 years of that shit who can blame me.
Hate to say it but UNTD for the gold.
Will be keeping an eye on all those smaller clubs for forums sake!

And I was already to rant about the Dallas Cowboys...

Mozart Face - Ill be cheering on Hereford tomorrow night, anyone who plays against Yeovil deserves my support! Although they are our major rivals I cant see a situation where we'll be playing each other anytime soon.
Tomorrow night is our 2nd game of the season away to Forest Green Rovers, oh the glamour!
