Anybody saw them at that Irish TV show last night? I've been searching on the YouTube and found nothing...

/ lia nervous about tonight unsure.gif

Yep, they played "Fake Empire" on a very small stage. I'm sure it'll turn up on YouTube at some point.

Also nice article in today's Sunday Tribune (mostly about A Skin, A Night, but also mentioning how much they like playing in Dublin:

Why Dublin? "People really appreciate us and although we've grown a lot we like to keep it at a level we all enjoy - and that includes everyone who comes to see our band. We know we don't really have casual fans so we are really trying to keep a relationship with them. The National never gets played on the radio. It's always been a word of mouth thing and we really enjoy that. It makes it meaningful."

Yeah it's still not online as far as I can see. RTE will put the show up this week but I fear it may be just the interviews.

Not the best version you'll ever hear anyway.

Heading over from Bristol tomorrow morning and going to the Wednesday and Thursday gigs. Hoping to meet some of you guys there as I couldnt persuade anyone else to make the trip. Am just listening to 'Without Permission' now and would be great to hear them play some new stuff. Enjoy the gigs!

They always put up the performances as well but it just seems to be taking them a while!
The 'stage' has to be the tiniest they've ever played. Matt was looking well though;)

I recorded this on to my DVDR. As for getting it out of the machine and on to Youtube - haven't the foggiest.

Yeah im heading on Thursday night, cant wait for it.

Hoping to hear a few new songs

sivski- 05-14-2008
Oh my god. That was THE best gig I've ever been too.

Met Matt too, he was so humble 'Hi I'm Matt'. Legends!

Originally posted in the setlist thread:

The new song was pretty laid back and I wasn't massively impressed. I'd imagine the song will change considerably before it ever gets recorded, think how much some of the early demos from Boxer have changed.

Matt keeps repeating the lines "thousand block cities" and "blue skies will smother us". Aaron played keyboards on the song. After the song Matt said that the performance was "perfect", although there was more than a touch of irony in his voice and he looked sheepishly towards Aaron.

Was an amazing show, they get better every time I see them and the raw emotion that Matt puts into every performance is spectacular - for such a reluctant frontman he really wears his heart on his sleeve.

Copies of A Skin A Night were also on sale at the gig and in a few record shops around town - I've got mine!

Bring on tonight!

I thought they were very poor in Dublin last night. Worst time I ever saw 'em. They didn't seem to get into it at all. Sound problems, weird setlist etc.

what do you mean by weird setlist?

Yeah I've heard nothing but bad reports about last night. Oh well.

I hope they're saving it for tonight!
