Best show i've been to, mr november was too good for words.

I didn't like hayden's music that much, but his personality made up for alot of that.

You should try and listen to his records: they're actually different from what you saw onstage. And they're good.

Friend Of Mine

[...]

And missed out this time
on Baby, we'll be fine and Karen. Better luck next time! smile.gif

You're wrong about that one, they played 'Baby, We'll be Fine' instead. It is on the setlist and I remember singing along to the 'I put on an argyle sweater and put on a smile' line, one of my fav lyrics. wink.gif

Well.. where did all those people come from.. more att. then i expected!
We arrived in Amsterdam at 5 o'clock.. took a bite and sat down in the melkweg cafe to have some beers (national was having dinner there..)
We went to the door around 8:30.. and there was a line of people.. we ended up standing in the middle of the venue, to for away to take nice pictures.. bummer for that one.
Show was great.. i loved it.. on to the next one!
(went to see editors the next day and had to work very early.. getting to old for this shit smile.gif)

Anyone who made nice pictures/video's??

Haha, me too, but thankfully I took this morning off work, otherwise I wouldn't have coped I think.

I was front row and would have liked to take some pics and make some vids but the battery of my phone was nearly empty, so I only took one of the setlist... unsure.gif

rudedadude- 11-30-2007
ok, I'm still curious: what happened to the guy that was taken away at the very end of the show? Had he fallen, fainted, swallowed a microphone stand?

I definately liked Padma Newsomes violin play during the concert. I'm still not able to pick my favorite song of the concert...

sa34- 11-30-2007
I didn't care much for Hayden either. Calm songs are one thing, but this really was a bit too much for my taste.

I can't believe I missed About Today. sad.gif They really got to come back in a hurry so I can catch that one, it is my fav song along with Daughters.

And I think that on that set list you mixed up Friend of Mine and We'll Be Fine. Because I remember they played the latter, and I also think I would remember if they had played the former. wink.gif

I did take some pics with my phone. A bit crappy compared to the ones of the people with actual cameras (which, really, isn't all that surprising), but if there are a couple that are worthwhile I'll see if I can put them up somewhere.

From what I've heard, he wasn't feeling to good already (probably overheated, dehydration or something) when one of three guys, who had been spoiling the gig a few times before, bumped into him and he fainted. Matt saw this happening and gave those guys this angry look (while saying something unintelligibly) and before Matt went offstage he asked the crowd to make way while his friends carried him to the back of the hall.

Like I said, those guys had been irritating me before. I was at the front, they were about two rows back and they were talking out loud during Wasp Nest(!), so I asked them politely to please shut the hell up, cause I wanted to really enjoy one of my fav songs. They were silent for about ten seconds and then started chatting away again, really loud, so I just gave them the finger and turned on my ignore mode. Later on they were shouting stupid things in between songs.

People like that should go to the pub instead... mad.gif

patrick91- 11-30-2007
So i was not the only one who went to both shows.. i took the thursday off from work, friday was not an option.. oh well.
I was located more to the rightside of the stage, so the motherfuckers who spoiled your show were not around me.. there are always people talking throughout a show.. stay home.. please...

I took my digital cam, but my spot was not good enough to shoot nice pictures..

And sad for that guy that fainted..
Next show 2008?!

Museumgast- 11-30-2007
Was it because those drunken basterds which made me irritated at first, then i laughed at and then got irritated again that the boy fell!? ... unsure.gif Oh men, that is just so unreasonable! I didn't know what to do. Just like the half of the room was chatting during Hayden. His lyrics where beautiful but sometimes the voices were just too loud.

And FINALLY i got the cherry tree ep! (and tshirt and Sad SFDL) Anticipated it for so long! rolleyes.gif

Wow, I can't believe I totally missed the whole fainting episode. On which side of the stage was that? From your descriptions it seemed as if it should've happened right near me.

Yeah, in front of me were also two guys constantly talking. Which annoyed me for all the obvious reasons, but also because I'm small and I usually have to rely on watching through the gaps between the heads of people, and if people talk, they draw them together, and then I can't see anything.

btw, more people annoyed by extremely tall people squeezing their way too the front? I mean, sure, if you're there early then it's okay because if then you get stuck behind them it's your own fault, but if they squeeze themselves in just before the gig when everyone is already set, blocking the view of all the people behind them, wow, I think that is pretty inconsiderate. Luckily I could squeeze in front of my friend and had a perfect view.

Yeah... But the stage is also pretty high, I'm pretty tall for a girl but had to get a step away from the stage to see Bryan his head biggrin.gif Matt said something like; hey here is some more space for people who got stuck in the back,... but nobdy could see anything if they would stand in front.

patrick91- 12-01-2007
I'm lucky that i am tall (1,91)..
Bad thing is : get something to drink, return to your spot and you will have people standing there saying "are you reallygoing to stand here in front of me.." i want everbody to have a good view and like to help if i can ut there are some lmits..

I do wonder what camera's or phones people use to get really good movies AND sound.. i have the LG viewty and filmed ada (one of my favorites) the sound is so bad... threw it away (the file, not the phone smile.gif

Since probably only us dutchies read this thread it might be a good idea switching to dutch.. as soon as people start yelling the can't read it we will switch back...

biggrin.gif But this isn't a Dutch forum.... maybe other people outside our little country might want to read what we say as well... and i don't think the forum admin would be pleased if he can't censor it...

yeah i can relate to the getting a drink at venues story, i'm just happy my phone works actually.
