I don't know, Landmark is pretty cool (for that matter, so is AFI in Silver Spring) but they need to make money, don't they? I don't see either of those places showing something where the going admission for screenings elsewhere ranges from free to $3.

Bars and clubs makes more sense to me, a place where the bar tabs make the money.

I'd love to see this get hooked up in Philadelphia. I don't know a single bar or club here myself (just moved up from DC actually [AND I AM SO HOMESICK I COULD DIE]) but everyone always says this town is teeming with hipsters, so there's gotta be some appropriate venue + people who can make it happen.

Savannah in the spring is unspeakably gorgeous but I don't have time for that length of a road trip next week :D

Hrm. Just noticed on the band site that they have a listing for a screening on May 31 in New Brunswick, NJ at the NJ Film Fest. But, neither the Beggars site nor the NJFF site make any mention. Whunh?

I sent an email to someone at Beggars in an attempt to set up a screening in Philadelphia. I'm not sure what type of place would host a screening like this so I wasn't able to offer a suggestion, but I'll let you know if I hear anything.

the fan screenings are simple. and you get a copy of the DVD to boot. bars, clubs, student unions, "media rooms" if you roll like LeBron. it's all good.

Ha, I can't even offer up my living room. My 97.4-percent-awesome husband replaced our old, dying TV, the other day, tearing apart our entire A/V setup. Days later, the gadgetry in our living room remains rent asunder to the point where there's not a working DVD hookup in the house. I have informed Mr. 97.4 that this situation needs to be rectified before May 20 :D

I communicated with Claire at Beggars and haven't heard from her since last week. I find it odd that Chicago doesn't have anything lined up.
