£17.50 to see The National play in Belfast? That's a disgrace! I'm begrudgingly paying up, but looks like I'll be going it alone. No chance of getting mates who don't really know them to fork up seventeen bloody quid.

*anger anger*

In fairness £17.50 is cheap.

In dublin, tickets were reasonably priced at €27.50 which is just over £20.

What prices do ya normally pay to go to gigs

girlinflowerdress- 05-16-2008
I dunno, for £20 I'd be expecting to see someone who's a little bit bigger, like We Are Scientists, or Maximo Park, or The Libertines or something. Belfast is not a city that with a big music scene like. Maybe I've underestimated The National's popularity though, I would also have expected them to be playing somewhere smaller than Mandela Hall I suppose.

Anyway, intial moaning over. Of course I'll be getting a ticket regardless of the price.

our boys are getting bigger. Plus if they're taking the horns out they need some more money.

It always happens!

Wells I don't like it! wink.gif

Dont know, in DUblin, the National would have way bigger following than We Are Scientists, Maximo Park etc who always just play 1 night, while the National played 3 on this tour and twice on the last tour

girlinflowerdress- 05-16-2008
That's so strange. They're only a few hours away from each other.
In saying that though, I'm at uni over in England atm, so maybe I'm just completely out of touch, but I can't imagine The National being very big in Belfast. Who knows, hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised...
